The Branch held an Extraordinary General Meeting on Monday 18th January 2016 to consider the introduction of a Funding Scheme that would go some ways to help cover the cost of Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Education Tuition.

The proposal was passed at the meeting.

Members can therefore apply for subsidies for the aforementioned Therapies/Education Tuition that have taken place since Monday 18th January. All paid up members are eligible to apply for 4 €30 subsidies and can apply for an additional 16 €30 subsidies, once they fundraise or participate in committee activities as per the terms & conditions of the Funding Scheme.

Members can apply for subsidies three times a year,

• for the period January to April, applications should be submitted by the 10th of May,
div
• for the period May to August, applications should be submitted by the 10th September and
div
• for the period September to December, applications should be submitted by the 10th January.

Applications forms, which should be accompanied by receipts and your 2016 membership receipt number should be forwarded to the Assistant Treasurer Jacqui Gaines. The Funding Scheme (as with all programmes organised by the Down Syndrome Louth / Meath branch) is administered on a completely voluntary basis by parents of children with Down Syndrome.

The Branch run Monthly Coffee Morning especially for our new Members to get to meet with other Families who have Children with Down Syndrome. Details can be found on our Facebook page.
